Strongy's annual winter visit to Slimbridge

    My once a year trip to Slimbridge Wetland Centre, it's a 3 hour drive each way but worth it for the winter birds.
    There is a captive world wildfowl collection but these are wild birds.

    A pair of Whooper Swans arrived recently although separately and have bonded.

    Bewick Swans, around 70 here for the winter.

    Ruff (with the darker Redshank) a few overwinter but most go to West Africa.
