I saw that on BBC news. Its looks truly amazing doesn't it. It almost makes you want to go there, but there's the -50'C temperatures, and the lack of anything to eat or drink. Oh, and the lack of a breathable atmosphere. But apart from that, it looks lovely.

It is hard to remember the temp & the atmosphere situation when you look at the photos isn't it... I never though I would be looking at photos of Mars that are so clear.!!

Terraforming is not going to be a ride in the park there. Wonder what it was like before it lost its atmosphere?

It's amazing that the Explorer is still working as it was only designed to last a few months and it is now several years.:snork:

As for "terraforming" we've got to learn how to manage our own Earth responsibly without turning it into a desert before we think about Mars!!:heehee::nonofinger:

Hmm it is facinating isn't it, what a revalation it would be, if once it did have an atmosphere like earth.! Well that is what I often find myself wondering.. :WINK1:

It probably did, but now hasn't got a strong enough magnetic field to hold on to it, its been stripped by the Solar wind.

I am sorry to say, the pictures must be fake.

They have to be, since they look nothing like the one below, which is a close up of mars.

Strange, why is there a Buddist temple and Nelsons column in the picture? It's fake!
