    Hi

I am wondering if anyone has any idea why part of our new veg patch has grown very well we then have a small patch that nothing has grown in and the remainder has all been stunted or not grown.

The area for at least the past 8 years has been covered in weed barrier I know that up until about 25years ago the area was a farm yard.

Any suggestions would be very help full I haven't yet tested the soil as not sure what to test for.

    Hi Rachel,

I've got a similar prob with my new plot. Veg is doing great where i've been back filling with topsoil & orse muck, but there is an area which i will have to dig out & replace over winter, its full of old building rubble & the onions I planted there are all flopping over, can't get their roots into it.

Have a dig to see whats underneath, you might find a big concrete slab or an old tractor.
