Hi new to the forum and looking for some suggestions. My garden is quite bare at the moment with only patio area and a few trees planted and I have quite large borders cut out around the edges of the lawn. I have a birch tree, cottoneaster and a Scots pine at the moment and would like the borders planted out with "woodland" plants to fit in with the surrounding countryside. I would like to do this in stages by by getting the plants at the back planted first so I am looking for a shrub/bush to fill the largest corner that will fill out to 6 to 8 feet in height and width. Any suggestions welcome.

    Hi Scotty!

Rhododendron would be one, if the soil/conditions allow.
You could also go for Laural, which has various types, or a viburnum, again, has various forms.
Something a bit different is Photinia 'Red Robin', which the new growth is bright red!

A photo or two would be great!

    Hope this Helps!
