I bought a lovely stoneware pot with a green glaze and a factory stamp. its about 1.5 Ft tall and 1 ft across at the very top (but it bends inwards so is wider in the middle)

As I have chalky soil I would like to plant something which I can't put in the ground - perhaps an Azalea.

I would quite like something evergreen and at least 2 foot high so it screens the back of the garden - an azalea might do that ?

what sort ? is there a big difference between a Azalea and a rhodedendron. rhos are much bigger and less suited to containers ?

do azaleas like pots without too much fussing. I don't want to be endlessly replanting.

    what sort ?

when should I plant it. I usually plant trees in autumn. Should I be looking now.

    cheers
