Does anyone use 'sulphur bombs' in, the greenhouse for pest control?
I've discovered some and wondered about fumigating the greenhouse but have never used one before. This is really just pelletised sulphur in a dish which is let to burn and likely stinks to high heaven!

I used to use bombs of some kind, mostly something called HCH Lindane.
They used to stink so may have contained sulphur as well.

Always noticed that the spiders in the corners we still alive afterwards so not sure how much use they were.

I think sulphur might be more for fungus.

I use the flea "fountains" from a pet shop.

If you leave the windows closed for a little while, a week or even a month later, there's an awful stink inside.

There's never a spider left afterwards, though and there'd be "millions" before.

About 50 years ago my Mum would always use a sulphur smoke bomb at the end of season in our cedar greenhouse, and it did seem to work.
I was going to try one a few years ago in my new aluminium Rhino greenhouse, but research shows that sulphur will cause corrosion of aluminium.
So if you have a greenhouse with any aluminium, best not to use sulphur.

Sulphur burns to form sulphur dioxide, this will kill insects, people, mites, fungi ect. It's been used, since before Homer was a jobbing poet going around reciting the Odyessy for his keep in Ancient Greece, for purification and cleansing rituals.

I'll light it later and see what happens. In honesty the permanent ventilation is good so it might just go outside in which case I'll bin it
