summer bulbs

    i didnt take out my dahlias and gladioli after summer,are they gonners or will they return next year???i'm hearing conflicting reports!!

    Probably still OK dave at the moment and if the weather carries on like this they will make it through.
    If we get a cold snap of any duration then its touch and go. [​IMG]

    good news indeed!i think i'll take my chances now and leave them,i'm new to this gardening lark,nobody told me you were supposed to take em out every year!

    It is more the wet which does the damage than the cold. Both planted in well drained positions will survive quite surprisingly cold temps, but they soon rot in cold WET soil.
