Have rec'd today 175 summer bulbs from one of the gardening mags.
It says to plant in March-May in the ground. I know it is only the beginning of March tomorrow, but we are having a bitter cold spell at present with a bit of snow.(I knew we hadn't had our winter yet!)
Would it be better to plant these in pots for now and then plant them out later? There is an old greenhouse to put them in... no heating but that wouldn't matter? Working at the residential home, my 'helpers' could be involved in planting the bulbs in pots..they are so eager to grow something!
The bulbs are Oxalis, Triteleia, Acidanthera,Sparaxis, and Allium.
    Thanks.

i think you could pot these up for now and keep in cold greenhouse, if only to get every1 involved, dont plant them deep so you can see progress and top them up if necessary .. normally they would be planted whre they are to flower, but this method will prove more interesting
