    Hi!

I have several orchids in my north east facing kitchen window sill. Some have flowered, some haven’t, ever !
The only time they are in direct sun is very early in the morning, when I have forgotten to pull the blind down the night before. My question is, can I put them outside on a potting bench just below the window? I feel they might like a bit of fresh air for the summer!

OK, I dont put Phals outside in summer, I think often nightime temperatures are a bit low and they would need a semi shaded spot.
I'm struggling these days with them as I had a solid roof put on my conservatory and since then they are finding it too dark and not flowering.

So I would say getting it right in summer and winter is what they need, good bright light, humidity, no direct sunshine in summer, if you can find a spot they like I'd not move them.

It’s strange! My daughter in law has an east facing conservatory with orchids, they are flowering their socks off with leaves looking fairly dry and unhealthy! I wouldn’t dare put mine in the north facing one ! Trial and error as with all plant husbandry ! ‍♀️
