Sunflowers

    planted 50 seed of dwarf sunflowers divided in two pots. they are blooming now. they only grow 2 feet and flowers about 5 inches across. sturdy little things don't have to bother stacking. Sunflowers.jpg

      They are lovely redstar. I think im starting to prefer the dwarf versions tbh

      I forgot about this thread so those sunflowers have grown into these

      I only have four left. I kept 6 and slugs ate two and i gave three to nextdoor and the slugs ate those as well.

      These four are performing well tho there are lots of flowerheads on them

        I just took a close look at some of the older flowers, looks like they are turning to seed also. So the birds will be pleased. I guess I should remark the pot itself is about 2 feet high, then add the 2 foot flowers, it makes for a nice showing there of 4 foot.
