Couldn't manage the walk round the real Castle so went to the model village instead.

:yahoo: Ooh great pics Zigs, I just love the old Victorian seafront & the pier so many memories.. The building with the big hole in it is such a terrible site to see though... You went to the model village I just think they are magical little places, I used to go to the Bourton-on-the-Water one & then I took my own children & grandchildren there smashing places.. Thanks for sharing...

My pleasure, take a closer look at the building with the big hole.

I used to go to the Hastings model village when I was a Ziglet, don't know if its still there? I expect Jenny will know.

Bourton on the Water? Think I studied that in Geography, is it a market town with 2 rivers?

      Hi Ziggy,
We were down in Swanage in a mobile home overlooking the Bay ,Town and Isle of Wight last week! Very wild, wet and windy and lovely to watch the weather coming from behind Corfe , over us and on out to sea. Changed every 10 minutes. AND they were firing on Lulworth tank range for half the night - just to add to the amusement. HWMBO was sorry that the Steam Special Princess Elizabeth(Princess Royal class) failed to make it to Swanage due to a broken steam pipe the day before.

Hastings model village was opened by Stanley Deboo (local hobnob) in 1955 and it was very popular but, due to serious vandalism on several occasions, it was closed in 1988. Some lovely photos on Flicker though,

Didn't know you'd had a neck transplant:snork: Drove past Wareham but didn't think i#d recognise your new gaff just from the pics:biggrin:

Thats a shame about the Hastings one closing Jenny:sad: Some people just wreck things for everyone else.

Very good Ziggy, you are getting about a bit these days!

Love the 'hole' in the wall, someone has a great sense of humour and skill :)
