    Hi All

Would somebody please let me know why the Swans are in the fields at this time of year.
I have seen a few pairs in the fields near to Newhaven, East Sussex, UK.
I thought they may be feeding before the emigrate but they do not seam to be very active??

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

They're just swanning around maybe :D
Or eating grass - like geese?

If they are mute swans (which they probably are)they are probably browsing as Blackthorn suggests as they are resident and do not migrate. If they were Whooper swans (yellow bills not orange) they would have migrated here for the winter. [IMG]
