Hey guys a bit of a odd question
I know sweeds should be direct sown but I have recently got a allotment and been its first year there is loads of seedlings coming up every where so direct sowing is going to be hard so to give them a fighting chance do you think I could start them in modules and plant out when a bit bigger say two inch or so

If you sow them into newspaper pots you could then plant them without disturbing the roots. That might be worth a try. :)

Are peat pots the same as the fibre/egg-box looking pots you get? I did onions from seed in those a few years ago. I got really scared they wouldn't rot away soon enough and ended up wetting them from the outside and peeling them off before planting out!

    Simliar, but made of peat.

I grew my runners in a cardboard packing thinger from a new radio (Looked like a plant tray so used it as one)

When I came to plant them out, the roots were already thru the bottom & forming a tangled mass, so they went in tray and all.
