i have grown the best sweet peas this year than 5 previous attempts. the only problem is,they have grown that tall.i have a 6 foot fence and i added another 2 feet to the top,and the sweet peas have grown over the top and are drooping about another 2 foot into my next doors garden!. the question i would like to ask for next year is.
CAN I CLIP THEM AT SAY 6 FT when they reach the top of the fence, or would this cause damage to the plants??. thank you , music. :cnfs:

Put wires up and train them along the top of the fence. Having said that, you can stop them at any height you wish with no problem.:gnthb:

Just cut them at the height you want them to be Music.
    It will do no harm.
In fact they will probably put out side shoots and do even more flowers.
Enjoy your sweet peas - lovely aren't they.

thanks Alice for your information .as regards to sweet peas they are one of my favourite flowers .
i moved house, and i had not the area to grow sweet peas in my previous garden.my new garden is much much bigger, and open to more sunlight.i have a fence 6 feet high and it is facing west,so more or less it gets the sun all day.my plan for next year is .i am going to have a complete wall of sweet peas 6 foot high x about 30 foot in length !!! ( THAT WOULD BE SOME SIGHT)and the fragrance in the evening with your gin/tonic ,sitting there, not a care in the world, watching the stars overhead.
with a little bit of clasical music, (PLAYING FROM THE GARDEN HUT!!!)
well how much more has FRED THE SHRED GOT WITH HIS MILLION THAT WE HAVE NOT????.
    thanks, MUSIC.
