@David K How fantastic to have so many flowers. Ours are still growing up and clinging onto supports. Amazing and hopefully they smell lovely.

How lovely to 'see' you @David K ! How have you been?

Very impressed that you have s. peas so far on, but only what I'd expect from you! Mine are about 6 inches at the moment, but at least I've managed to keep the slugs away from them - so far anyway.

Glad I'm not the only one so far behind in the sweetpea department! I planted ours out yesterday in a sea of slug pellets

I had to make a second sowing after mice ate all my sweet pea seedlings in the greenhouse. The second batch is planted now and being attacked by pigeons, I'll be lucky to get one bloom by September at this rate.

Mine are mostly in the house until they're hefty enough @JWK. Too risky anywhere else. It's a constant juggling though - of everything!

@Loofah - I don't generally have them any bigger than that at this time of year. They don't tend to put on much growth until the end of the month or early June here. It's why I rarely sow in autumn either, as they just sit there doing nothing until now anyway. Annoyingly, I could probably have had some further ahead this year if I had done some autumn ones, because winter was so mild, and April has been too - no snow/sleet etc. That's the way of it though :)

Sorry, think I may have been guilty of misleading here.
These are from my last years efforts.
Pleased to say that this years are about 18in high, showing the first buds.
Btw, those in my pic are Eagle Sweet Peas 'Little Collection'.

I sowed mine in autumn and managed to successfully overwintered some sweet peas for the first time. Still to decide whether it's worth it.

They've been planted outside since March as they toughed it out during the winter in an unheated blowaway plastic mini greenhouse. They're about 1.2m tall (4 feet in old money) and have several buds. Hopefully I'll be cutting flowers this coming week.

Very curious to see what colours I get. It's one of those "old fashioned" heirloom mixes so they could be anything. Last time I grew a mix 90% of the flowers were purple!

Your sweet peas were always lovely on the other Forum @David K. I've given up growing them in France, too hot and I'm away too often.

I did wonder how you had them so far on @David K - I just assumed you were growing in very protected conditions. :)

Thank you, Liz. Sorry you've had to give up on SPs, but you're quite right, they do require temperate conditions.

Planted my seedling out in two very large pots with drainage and with climbing frames in warm weather but with the rapid change in weather conditions they are looking very sad.

Oh what a shame....what was their history/raising before you planted them out?
