does anyone remember seeing a programme Grow your own veg? I think they grew sweetcorn with french beans and courgettes together in a square has anyone tried this as I wondred if it would work. I think it was a space saving idea.

    Hi galaxysue.

    This may help .... http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/square-foot-gardening-8100.html?t=8100&highlight=square+foot+gardening

I have no space for vegetables so I am currently growing 9 sweetcorn in a 33cm clay pot and I have 3 sugar snap peas in a 27cm clay pot. I also have tumbling cherry tomatoes in a strawberry pot, strawberies and a Japanese wineberry in a strawberry pot and radishes in a trough.

I have never done the sweetcorn or sugar snap peas before so it is a trial for me ... but all look healthy so far.

Hi, yeah, I remember looking at it at the time as it was rather interesting. Apparently it's an ancient practise called "Three Sisters". Google "three sisters gardening" and you should find some stuff about it.

I may try it myself since I seem to have seedlings for the three constituents....
