I bought 3 packets of these earlier this year and had high hopes for them: http://www.thompson-morgan.com/flow.../lathyrus-odoratus-king-size-navy-blue/2053TM

But this is what they've turned out like - wrong colour (red flowers) and nothing like the description/illustrations whatsoever, so I've emailed them complaining:

Doesn't look anything like they're supposed to, and I've wasted a load of time/expense on them. I've lost enough plants to the weather this year without having wrong seeds supplied causing further losses - the plants are so useless I'm pulling them out.

Jack McH may have got some dodgy sweet pea (vetch) seeds from Poundland, but I didn't expect the likes of this from Thompson & Morgan.

My experience of T&M is that they will initially offer a replacement packet of seeds (that you've already completely lost any confidence in whatsoever in) that will also be too late for sowing this year, and out of date next year. You'd think they'd know better, but they don't.

Maybe all the rain has washed the dye out :-)

But they should have "Turned blue with cold"

Sorry to hear the let down Scrungee, my ordinary ones have only just flowered today, some really heavy scented, others just very deep purple and crimson, a pleasure to actually see some colour in the garden at last

It may be coincidental, but I didn't get the sweet peas that I was supposed to from T&M, they were substituted with pansies - makes me wonder if there was some sort of bigger issue with sweet peas?

I sent my email to T&M at 15:31 yesterday and they came back will a full response at 8:25 this morning with an e-code for £10 to spend online plus replacement seeds in the post. Can't get quicker that that, but it does make me wonder if it's a problem they already know of as they didn't even ask for the batch number on the packets.

So I'm now waiting for a code/offer for free P&P + a 50% off seeds end of season sale and go via Quidco to get 12% cashback and hopefully they'll all work together and get me the most out of my £10 voucher.

The only problem I'm left with is that I was relying on those T&M sweet peas to provide me with loads of saved seeds for next year, as I used up nearly all of my existing saved ones ealier this year as I've been sowing/selling them for charity fund raising.

I always buy Unwins sweet peas always 1st class, but then used to live in Cambridge and visited their trial ground most years.
I Have had Thompson and Morgans plants bit of a lucky dip with them I found,Their
Fuchia "Sarah Delta" avertised as blue ha ha Puce would better describe it.

I've got exactly the same red sweetpeas from my T&M "navy blue". Seems like they must have had some sort of mix-up.

I hoped anybody else experiencing the same problem would find my post - I googled to see if I could find mention of it before emailing T&M.

If you follow the same procedure as much as possible - email with order number (went back through inbox until I found it, but may not be essential if you can't find it and provide your address) together with an image attached of the red sweet peas, you should get the same result - a £10 voucher + replacement 'King Size Navy Blue' seeds, but I've got no faith in them now. I didn't have empty seed packets to quote a batch number as I appear to have chucked them away after successful germination.

I hope you're also complaining. Please let us know how you got on.

Just tried to use the £10 off code that T&M sent me and it doesn't work!

And other people are experiencing the same problems with incorrect seeds supplied.

And they haven't withdrawn this seed.

          What a shambles!
