Talks & Speakers

Hi all,

Seeking speakers to give talks to a gardening club in Carmarthen area. After six years we are running short of local pesonalities and so need some new blood to heckle. :WINK1: Members range from novice to expert, organic to traditional, in every age spectrum.
Our interests are wide and varied and we welcome speakers on many topics, from 'normal' gardening to wildlife and photography.
Average attendance at meetings, held 2nd Monday of every month at 7pm is approx. 20 to 25 members.
Happy to pay reasonable fees and expenses.

Often wondered about this, and have been asked a few times and refused
What is considered a reasonable fee for something like this?

Hi Sam, Normal fee is around £30-£40 for talks with slides, professional gardeners and speakers often do charge upward of £50 plus expenses depending upon their expertise and 'fame' Some even ask for £150+
As a smallish garden club we can't afford the higher bracket, but we do splash out now and again on a bigger 'name'
