    Hi,
I have some Raspberry canes about 8 feet high, is it acceptable to cut them at 6 feet or might this cause damage or disease? If it is ok to prune would it be best done in Spring or Autumn?
    Many thanks for any advice.
    John.

If its a primocane (fruits in the first year) you can cut it down in winter. if its floricane new canes will fruit the year after, then you can prune them. primocanes can also fruit in the 2nd year but a smaller amount.
you can trim them in summer if theyre too high but sterilise your tool first, eg. hot water or soap and water
