    Hi

We've come back from a two week holiday to find the courgettes have gone mad - huge marrows everywhere!

The leaves are now so big they're putting lots of other plants into shade - is it OK just to chop these back?

    thanks

If they are affecting other plants then you have no choice but to cut them back. They won't mind a bit of pruning, you should take off the marrows as soon as possible otherwise the plant may stop flowering thinking its work has been done.

Yes, Roger, as JWK says you can remove a few leaves here and there if they are really in the way and cut the marrows to keep the plants fruiting.
Marrow roasted with herbs is quite nice.
