    Hi Johny,

Probably won't last long, Couch Grass has got armour plated root tips that are quite capable of going thru a tarp, can't imagine them being UV stable for more than a few years.

Can't you order some liner on line?

I think you'll be disappointed ... but hopefully you will prove me wrong.

There are cheaper type materials for pond liners - for example a sort of thin plastic with a strengthening thread incorporated (sorry, forgotten the correct name) - and it needs to be UV stabilised ,and you need some sort of underlay too. If it punctures, or perishes, soon after you create it you'll pay more in the long term - "buy cheap, pay twice" :(

Hello johnygrowall, no idea why you can't get a pond liner in b & q they have them on line Click me It may be the fact that its now February and liners are not popular until April onwards. But also as has been said there are lots of on line all year round suppliers of pond liner.
Tarpaulin is of no use for a pond as not only are they not UV stabilised (they have no need to be) some can be poisonous to fish.

Always use the right tool for the right job.
