so sad to hear Ken Dodd has died. Ok, he was 90 and couldn't go on forever but I still feel sad about it
Such a funny man. Nobody quite like him and we will miss him
Went to one of his shows once and had I known how long it would be I would have taken a sleeping bag. But he made us laugh constantly....ribs aching and tears running down our faces.
Thanks for the fun Sir Ken :)

We saw Ken in the eighties , he had a small touring variety show . The first house was over half an hour late coming out . It was after midnight when we got out overrunning by over an hour. His rapid fire one liners had us in stitches . He always took the mickey out of the Wigan accent.
Name three Olympic sports beginning with Th ? Wigan man , Th'ammer , Th'igh jump and Th'urdles :snorky:

We saw Ken weigh back when.

You always got value for money, I agree his shows could over-run by an hour or more, as did the one we attended.

I am very sad about this news, a very talented quick witted man with a great voice. I have seen him loads of times - first in the 60s at the Scarborough Spa, several times in Guildford and Portsmouth and just recently we watched him in Brighton last August. He was still going strong at his last performance started at 7pm and finished at mid-night! You certainly got value for money, the seats were only £15 - compare that to modern comedians (I have booked to see Bill Bailey in May costing twice the price and imagine he won't even do half that time).

He did the right thing, married his long term partner two days before he died.

So many such partners get left out of wills.

Best part about Doddy was he never waited for the laugh.
The next one was coming so fast it was often difficult to keep up with him.

Compared to so-called modern comedians , you never heard Ken swear on stage .
                Will be sadly missed !

it worked for me, i'm supprised that it did.
I used to have that and the river.

I used to like the diddy men.
