I bought some Teatree seeds off the internet. i planted them around 2 weeks ago and are now in the greenhouse. Has anybody had any experience of growing Teatree from seed and if so, how long does it take before I see anything growing?

Hi there kazzawazza and welcome to GC.

Do you mean Melaleuca alternifolia ?

Bought mine as a small pot plant years ago and have to massacre it every year as it is 3 meters tall now ..

OMG. I had visions of it being a small plant that I can put with other herbs in a pot. Yes, it is Melaleuca alternifolia. I have just looked on the web and it can get to 6m in height. I may have to re-think growing it due to size. Thank you.

Victoria's in Portugal according to her profile. I've not knowingly seen it in the UK except under glass. I've seen it in tropical highland areas though, so do have a good look at the conditions it requires. Gardener's World tonight was talking about making sure tender stuff is in well drained conditions (add grit) to help it survive the winter.
