This might be a little macabre but on Sunday when I was weeding a found what I thought was a molar lying on top of the soil. It was as big as a human molar but instead of 4 points it had 3 curved ones. Does anyone have an idea of what animal it came from?

I am sure that a natural history museum could give you an exact idea of what it is.
    A photo would be nice.
If it was only three pointed cusps it could be a dog,but because you say that the cusps are curved, than I would think of an animal which has different feeding habits for which that particular tooth is more suitable, like a wild boar, perhaps...?
I will see if I can find out more...

Badger - or maybe one of those big cats for which Cornwall is so famous?

    (j/k!)
