I seem to recall the question was asked..
Can supermarket pepper seeds be germinated after drying?
    Or, words to that effect.
So, a couple weeks ago after deseeding a pepper for some salad I planted the seeds direct.
A couple weeks in the propergator and I have these plants that are almost ready to plant on.

Nah, they are going to be a bunch of misshapen, space wasting, miss-fits.

Whereas my F1 seed, that I spent a fortune on, will be perfect.

Otherwise I will be VERY UPSET

How do you get the red and yellow peppers? I got the seeds last year that were supposed to be red but all i got was green and they were not very nice, really thin and short. Is it just the temperature they were grown at, when i left them longer they just rotted, no change after keeping them in the window either.

"I think they are different stages of ripeness? green-->yellow-->orange-->red..."

All are green first, then depending on variety they either turn Red (normal) or some other colour (Yuppie!!)

I only intend to put a couple in a pot and grow on in the consevatory just to see what happens.
Could look good next to the cucumber and the chillies.
Watch this space for updates on mutated peppers K !
