Well it doesn't look like I'll be getting my five a day!

This is the vegetable aisle (or should I say isle) in Tesco's, there's not much else in the way of perishable food either. No ship, no food!

Blimey Sheal,We don't realise how easy we have it here on the mainland when we pop to the shops and the shelves are always full.Have you got any stocks of stuff at home to tide you over until the ship can get the supplies back in to the store?

Where are the customers? Oh, around the other side stocking up on tinned peas, carrots, tomatoes, etc. :) :)

An extremely good photograph, Sheal, to show how we are so dependent on specialised suppliers in this day and age. Very good.

Kandy.....I do keep a certain amount at home but this is not the only supermarket we have on the island. I tend not to shop in the others because they are local to the island and sell more of the 'brand' foods which work out dearer. Obviously when Tesco's shelves are depleted the other shops suffer because of the knock on effect.

Kindredspirit......The customers have already raided those shelves! :) There is an on going joke with some members here about the supply of toilet roll, that is the first thing to vanish from the shelves, believe it or not!

The photograph was taken by somebody here on the island, I can't lay claim to it Kindred. :)

We are currently in the middle of another all day gale so the ship won't have sailed today either. It's not only the supermarkets that suffer, most other shops do to, being reliant on imports. Food and mail is always given priority when the island finds itself in this on going situation.

I don't like them Zigs and if I did they wouldn't survive, I've done nothing outside for two months it's just impossible to work out there! I've managed to pick up some fresh veg this last week and I have some frozen packs in the freezer for back up. :)
