Thats it I’m finally going to have to call it a day with growing things indoors the bungalow is full of plants and I can’t move in the garage for pots of tubers, corms and bulbs. So yesterday I gathered a list of what I have and am going to put up the temporary pollytunnel to move everything into. The list is a lot bigger than I imagined and I really can’t believe what I’ve manage to accumulate over the winter months, see list below.

    Crocosmia 40 bulbs
Cannna Durban,Tropicana, gold and black total of 60
Dahlia mixed but mostly bishop of llandoff and avignon total 36 tubers
    Musa Basjoo x2
    Washington robusta Palm x2
    Gunnera x2
    Brahea armata Palm
    Butia capitata palm
    Clematis princess diana x2
    Clamatis Josephine x2
    Clamatis taiga x2
    Japanese blood grass x6 clumps
    Bronze grass x4
Blue fescue x20 some brought some grown from seed
    Hebe multicoloured x4
    Bamboo obelisk
Bamboo black and cream stripe (can’t remember actual name)
Gaillardia red shades growing from seed x 12
    Phlox mixed x10
    Alstroemeria x 20
Hosta fire and ice and halcyon 3 of each
    Fatsia x2
    Colocasia mixed variations x8

I’m sure I’ll find more as I start to clear the garage couldn’t get all the way in.I’m shocked at myself on how much this has built up buying here and there during the winter. I’ve now been banned from buying anything garden related by the wife.:rage: Might be back later with another post on setting up the greenhouse gas heater I’ve brought as haven’t used one before wish me luck.

Jeesh you have accumulated a lot of plants! :spinning: Be wary with the gas heater, most plants are fine with them but some don't like the gas heater so just keep an eye out for any looking like they are struggling..

Matt, you are going to have a superb summer garden. Some really nice plants there.
Not sure you will need extra heat there though :)

I was going to say, some of that list are basically hardy plants that shouldn't need protection.

Thanks for the replies everyone, the heater is literally to just keep the tunnel at a mild temperature as keeping a lot of this indoors has started everything into full on growth early (lesson learn). I am concerned about the shock factor to the plants coming from the heat of the bungalow to the cold outside. I’ve been testing the gas heater today and it seems to be keeping the tunnel at 10 degrees at the moment cutting in and out as it should (Eden 2kw type). I have also have a big twin pariffin heater in case I can’t get on with the gas one and as a backup if I run out of gas and can get more straight away. Fingers crossed the tunnel will only be needed for max 4 weeks to get us past our last frost date. I’m going to test the pariffin heater later so I’m able to set it up right if I need it and not soot everything up. Been a busy day 1300 ltrs of compost dug into the raised borders tunnel put up in a surprisingly short time and I even managed to muddy up the kitchen floor just after the boss had cleaned it,she was happy though when I told her she would soon not have to worry about the 2 clamatis growing up the bathroom wall. Finally if you don’t see me post here ever again you’ll know something’s gone horribly wrong and I tried the pariffin heater later tonight in the DARK because that’s always going to be the best time to be messing about with a flammable liquid and a lighter:lunapic 130165696578242 5:
