I have one or two more from yesterday that I would like to share with you. The gardens are not open to the Public at 6am, but as a Committee member of Beautiful Battle I can go in to check up on things . I wear my high biz official gillet as required but it is so secret and special to be there alone at that time of the day. These memories will stay with me for quite a while...

    1) the lower paved garden - r/h side

and the view to the left

there's an entrance halfway down on the left into an inner courtyard and I did check to make sure that the hanging baskets were damp

and up above, the windows were open. I was half expecting to see someone looking at me but no one lives there. Town Council offices during the week.

hope you like these photos of the Almonry Gardens, Battle.

Absolutely delightful Jenny - the gardens and the brickwork complement each other perfectly!

Is it a slip on jacket with no sleeves,
or have I just made it up?

              :wow: Stunning!

As you know, that time of morning is *my* time of morning - everything freshly awakening, the air sweet and fragrant: that location is a dream!

The carvings on the bits under the window are funtastic :blue thumb:

Did you do any "dead heading" (aka pinch out any shoots?) while you were there, Jenny? :heehee:
