Not again! Are these leaves on my potatoes blight? Again my greenhouse with tomatoes are in close proximity :( I think some potato harvesting is in order & try & control the damage, I don't want to spray with anything. Any advice welcome!

This was revealed when one of the potato tops blew over in heavy winds a few days ago

Sorry for the blurry pic, but its a kind of slight thinning & darkening on the end of the leaf

Spotty leaves, not like the blight I experienced last year.

It's been a few days since I spotted & over all the leaves still look quite healthy, last year they were ravaged in a short space of time.

That's not blight more likely is mild Magnesium deficiency. Otherwise they look very healthy and now they are flowering you should find some decent tubers :thumb:

Well I wouldn't like to say, not very familiar with blight on potatoes, had it on tomatoes a few times but its never spread to my spuds.

Cant understand the principle involved in not spraying, with toms its a bit different, the fruit gets a dose of spray.
But who eats the tops of their potatoes:scratch::)

That's reassuring JWK, I was hoping the fact that it wasn't spreading was a good sign.

That's what my dad keeps saying Pete but I'm a bit obssessed with not having any chemicals in my garden, the potatoes are right beside my courgettes, beetroot & peas! I know it's a bit silly saying as I eat fruit & veg which are obviously sprayed for the majority of the year, but when I'm eating my own stuff I just want to know there are no nasties involved.

Thanks so much for the replies.
