I'm an F1 fan as I was brought up in motor racing. I think this guy is fab. Michael Schumaker had his time and I loved him and got bored with him, winning all the time. It's so nice to see new blood in the scene.

Gosh, roders, you and your footie and me only a Portugal fan and you not liking F1 ... no match whatsoever for us then, huh? [IMG]

AND we won the cricket.... Thank you Mr. Panesar and whoever woke Mr. Harmison from his winter sleep...

Great stuff from Lewis, I agree - but worrying that they're still using that track, given the speeds the cars reach nowadays... Kubica was a lucky boy...!

Good drivers can cope with anything, Hy ... even with speed. To be honest, I wish it went back in time a bit with less computerised driving and more hands on stuff ... but then, that's me ...

Agreed - good drivers can cope with speed, track conditions, etc. - but look what happened at Indianapolis when Michelin produced a tyre that couldn't take the lateral forces and Ralf S got dumped into the wall.... Hardly his fault, but he's not really been right ever since.

Surely they could use something which absorbs the impact energy to cover the concrete - given that at today's higher speeds the energy released in an accident is greater now... Motor sport's dangerous, we know, and there's no getting away from that - in a sense, it's part of its attraction. But Kubica's crash was horrendous, and needn't have been that bad.... Also be interesting to hear what Signor Trulli had to say about it!

Just watched the Silverstone (having had to video it this afternoon) and have to say it was ace.

Well done Raikonnen, Alfonso and Hamilton.

As I have said before, I was brought up on F1 racing, that's how I learnt to drive and love it. Our dad (Sis and I) had a race team in States and I spent a lot of time in the pits (don't laugh, no pun inteneded) and it led me into working on cars ... actually working on my own sports cars, changing head gaskets for a start ... I seriously do wish it was like it was in early days, more manual driving than computer driving. But, then again, I'm old ...

Watched the hight lights of the race only as doing other things, but watched practice yesterday. Nail biting stuff - Ferrarai and Maclaren are really on about a par with car speed and handling at the moment - so its about the drivers.

I quite agree that Lewis Hamilton at 22 is showing a maturity under pressure that is impressive. I hope it continues, and he keeps his feet on the ground. Excellent driver - as indeed is his team mate and the two ferrari drivers.
