The Emperor's Garden in China

    Not exactly local.

    I visited China this year and went to the Forbidden City. It's huge, it was so hot that we barely made it all the way through. It gets better the further in you go. We started at the front opposite Tiananmen square and went through numerous huge courtyards, but the further you go, the smaller and more intimate it gets. Finally, at the very end, when we were exhausted, we came to the emperor's garden. It was worth the walk.

    It's a hard landscaped garden full of shade from the trees and pagodas and very beautiful. We went the next day for another look. This time, we used the back entrance.

    Beautiful photos, NurseWhen, so different than what we see ... just love that first picture.

    My guest room/office is oriental themed so I certainly appreciate these photos. I have many special items in this room that have been given to me.
