In Attachment, a picture of my front-yard lawn taken this morning.
Do you see how green is my Lawn ?
Doesn't that look like the "Kent County" lawns ??? :)
(My question is for the british/London people).
My Home is in "Castano Primo", a small town not far from "Milan Malpensa International Airport" (ITALY).

According to the Metereological Aerodrome Report (METAR) the today's weather conditions in Malpensa Airport are the following:
    LIMC 180620Z VRB02KT 6000 -RA SCT020 BKN040 09/08 Q1017 NOSIG=

"LIMC" is the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) code for "Malpensa Airport".
(The ICAO code for Heathrow is, for example, "EGLL").
The string "180620z" Means: "Report of the day 18th (April 18th) at the time 06:20 zulu time. That is at 06:20
Greenwich mean-time (no summer-time). Since Milan Malpensa Airport is located in the "GMT + 1" time-zone (when in London Greenwich it is midday, then In Malpensa it is 1 PM) and since it is now running the "summer time", then
"06:20 zulu time" means "8:20 AM" in Malpensa Airport. Thence we are talking about the "8:20 AM weather report in Malpensa, local time".
The wind's direction is variable and its speed is 2 knots ("VRB02KT" in the METAR).
"6000" means "prevailing visibility equal to 6,000 meters (about 3.73 miles)".
    "-RA" means "Rainy conditions".
"SCT020" means "Scattered clouds" at 2,000 feet altitude.
"BKN040" means "Broken sky at 4,000 feet altitude". That is: "sky overcast from 5/8 to 7/8". Where "8/8" means "fully overcast".
"09/08" means "Ground temperature equal to 9 Celsius degrees and dew-point equal to 8 Celsius degrees".
"Q1017" means the Pressure is "1,017 hPA".
"NOSIG" means "no significant changes". That means that no significant change is expected to the reported conditions within the next 2 hours.
So the temperature is 9 C and, since the dew-point is 8 C, given the pressure equal to 1,017 hPA, then the humidity is about 83%. Furthermore, the weather is "stable" (as indicated by the "NOSIG code").

Given such a METAR, I can state with great joy: "THE TYPICAL BRITISH WEATHER CONDITIONS !"
Furthermore, there is a kind of "Cold war" between me and my neighour. :D
We are challanging each-other for having the better
    front-yard lawn.
I guess that right now I am winning the game regardless that, in Italy we say: "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence".

I have noticed that he talked to me only to remark when there was something wrong with my lawn...
For example: "the grass of your lawn looks a bit dry..."
Actually now he's going to copy me out (he spyes me from behind the fence to get the "secrets" of my lawn).
    Anyway he's a bright kid...
    I'm kidding when I talk about "cold-war".... :)
His only fault is being an INTER MILAN supporter, whereas I am a A. C. MILAN supporter... :D (the team where plays - played, before the enjury - the Spice-boy David Beckham ).

    Stunning lawn, maksim.

And METARS and TAFS, the most accurate way to judge weather in the short term. (Besides radar.)

    Thank the all of you.
When in the year 1815, the Mount Tambora (in Indonesia) erupted, the consequence of that was a decrease of the earth mean temperature roughly equal to one centigrade degree. Indeed, the year 1816 became known as "the year without summer"...
Hopefully, the eruption of the icelandic vulcano "Eyjafjallajökull" occurred a few days ago will cause something like that: the vulcanic dust suspended in the atmosphere will "shadow" the sunrays and, as a consequence of that, we all will experience a year without summer...
Probably the british, irish, german people will not appreciate that.
I certainly will appreciate that since a drop of the summer temperature, say 10 degrees, will help me to keep my lawn as green as it is today (see more picture of that in attachment). :)
Indeed, the summer high temperatures of my town (near Milan, Italy) would stay around +25 C, instead of +35 C as it goes every summer.
I challange any of you to keep your lawn green when the high temperature is +35 and the low temperature is never cooler than +20...
So, pardon me if I hope for a cold summer...
