Hi, everyone - this is open to all that want to join in. Several of us want to lose weight this year, so we're ecouraging each other by having a weigh in, a la Weight Watchers. It'll be on Monday mornings.

I reckon it would be best if we state how much we want to lose, and report in every week to say how much we've lost (or gained :( ) over the week. If anyone wants to bare their soul in public, and declare their current vital statistics, that's fine - but I can't see that's necessary. I seem to be the co-ordinator, so if anyone wants me tho be the repository of the secret, I don't mind - and I'm VERY discreet! Honest, guv!

So here it is - the Great GC Weigh-in! Ta-da!

I'll start off - I want to shed the weight I've put on this year while having loads of injuries, and not adjusting intake to match. I'm exactly 10 stones, and my ideal weight range has been 9st4 - 9st7 for the last 5 years, so that's where I want to be again.

    I'm 5'5" - and that's a healthy weight for my height.

I started at 11st3 and I want to be 10st3. My main problem is inches around the middle.

I am 5'3" and I don't know what my "ideal" weight should be but I know what my "ideal" shape would be if I could achieve it ...

I started this "diet/exercise" routine about Christmas Eve so I'm week ahead of everyone.

    NEXT ...

PS This is difficult as I work in kilos now so I have to sit with a calculator!

I don't need to drop any weight but I do need to tone up and get a tad fitter,Mrs Pal is on a diet and together we will be using our newly purchased Cross Trainer, which took me four blinking hours to put together!!!. My height is 5'11" and I weigh 13 stone.
This will be a good incentive for us both and I'll keep you updated on our progress.

    Here you go LoL.

    http://www.albireo.ch/bodyconverter/

Good luck everyone, its hard going. Just remember will power runs out so try and change your habits without depriving yourselves. I don't diet but have lost weight through exercise and sensible eating. Sounds boring but thats the best way, slow and steady. Also I eat my main meal mid day so during my most active parts of the day, and never eat after 7pm when I am lounging about.

Since Septemeber I have lost 17 Kilos through boxing, trampolining and a changed eating timetable. Feel free to PM me if anyone needs support or help in any way.

    BM :D

I just would like to say that it is more difficult for some of us than others because of our ages ...  but we're all in it for the same reason.

DAG, I don't like men weighing less than me ... but guess most of the GC guys do .... :D :D :D

My waist is smaller however!

That's great, BM! And a really useful link. From that, I can see that my weight is 64kg, and my target is 59kg. The other thing that dieticians use is BMI - so if anyone wants to use that - here's a link to it

    http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

    mine's 23.3

Good to see you DAG! There's no reason why you have to use an unfamiliar weighing system, LoL - but now we have that link, it'll be easy for us all to see things in terms we're used to...

Hi dendrobium,it was a good idea to bring up this weight-watching topic, as i am sure that there is a lot of interest in the subject.
Even if I don't follow a diet, I do try and eat sensibly and I don't often drink sweet drinks, alcohol or eat chocolate etc... But of course the second I do, it is immediately noticeable!
I will nevertheless keep a close eye on your progress and post if i find anything that could be of any interest...
