Lovely picture, Roders. Your snowdrops are a bit ahead of mine which are only just showing the very tips of their leaves at the moment.

But I had a few blackbirds trying out their Spring time song in the garden with me this afternoon.

Some of my plants have new growth on.

My dad once told me, something an old farmer told him, which is this. The trees know when the last of the really cold weather has finished, and will [apparently] not grow their new buds if another big chill is coming.

A lot of my perennials are showing new life. Clueless, I hope the old farmer was right, it would be lovely to have an early Spring followed by a decent summer.

I'm thrilled that our ground was frozen solid for a week, maybe ten days, in the hope that it has killed some of the bugs that have been rampant for several years now ...

I found my snowdrops in my garden yesterday. they don't look too happy but are making a valiant effort.
Our friends who live near Stow on the Wold tell me that there are banks of snowdrops ...in all their glory near where they live.

We have snowdrops too, funnily the first daffs were in bloom at Christmas so perhaps our snowdrops are late this year!
