I have asked a similar question a longtime ago on the forum and I am trying again now, because I didn't get an answer. I find that the icing for cakes that I buy at my local supermarket has a paper taste (comes in small paper bags). Any idea where I can buy one without this unpleasant background taste?

PS it is in powder ready to mix with water

I didn't even know you could get ready made icing. Isn't just icing sugar and a bit of water to make a paste, and then any food colouring you might want to add?

You could make your own icing with icing sugar and water.

I still remember when I was very little, getting halfway through eating a brown paper bag in the bakery while my mam was chatting to the lady behind the counter. I didn't die or anything:)
