    which won in its category at The Great British Village Show today (followed on tv) measured 17 feet and 3 inches!
    (mostly covered by the root)

    How long?Was it grown on a hill?Who pulled it out of the ground?Wow! That`s amazing.

    I saw that prog Miraflores and was wondering whether the root went straight down in which case the owner would have had to dig that deep to get it out in one piece. It must have been curled up surely.

    It was the runner beans which amazed me. How did they get that little curl on the ends - mine don't curl like that. :confused:

    Wasn't it grand to see the youngsters though - especially those lads and their massive pumpkins. Better than going out mugging old ladies [​IMG] [​IMG]
