New Years Day is when I traditionally start seeds off and this year is no different. What is different this year is the sheer number that I have to sow.

    So yesterday I started the following off;

1] Aristolochia clematatis - as per instructions (15 of)
2] Caesalpinia pulcherrima - first time for me so I've only sown half of them. (5)
3] Campanula makaschvilii - the packet said any time of the year, but I've only sown a sprinkling. (25 approx)
4] Chillis - works every time for me.
5] Christmas cactus from my own seed
    6] Cobea scandens (alba) (15)
7] Datura wrightii - always start my Datura off this time of year (10)
8] Echium candicans - another first timer, so just a few (20 approx)
9] Lisianthus nigrescens - first time so following the instructions (15)
10] Moraea huttonii - they need a spell in the cold frame. (15)
11] Tricyrtis hirta - from experience these can be started at anytime. Need a cool spell and are very slow to germinate (20)
12] Thysanotus multiflorus - as per the instructions (10)

    That's it for round one:hapydancsmil:

      I resemble that remark :)

I say the same thing every year, but this year is just mental ... already bought an extra lighting rig though, so how hard can it be? :heehee:

I've decided to set one up in our spare unit. Since our tenants moved out we've decided to use it as storage and there is a lot of space on top of the office.

See above! Got a greenhouse but that is pretty full already.

Yep, has been since about 1992 i think. So is Tony Blackburn, Johnny Walker & Terry Wogan. Even getting more refugees from Radio 1 there now.

Itching to get started sowing, keep looking at my greenhouse forlornly :frown:, but as I am going away early February for 10 days, it`s impossible. :nonofinger:

Are you planning to grow any of the Iris family from seed - they would be ok I reckon. Hellebores, Tricyrtis, Aconitum etc?

I have started so I'll finish this year. :dancy:

Carrots Early Nantes sown in modules.
Broad Beans in toilet roll holders.
                Kochia's in seed trays.
Iris's in pots ready to grow on.
All in greenhouse and hopefully going to grow this year for me.
