Im thankfull to see the back of livingstone after his crippilling contemt of thoses running small businesses, instigating the congestion charge and more importantly the incompetence of its enforcment, The crazy parking warden thing and the london low emission zone. Further his apparent love of imigrants and those who dont belong.

However I think it says a lot about the conservatives that the best candidate they could find for the job is a public school prat of the highest order and a bigger one than cameron himself!

I wait with trepidation to see what Borris will come up with and if he can shed his imadge of the party joker.

It seems that way, glad I dont live in London.

Although the way things are going, we down here in Kent may get swallowed up, one day.

    Thats the trouble David,
We have lost our "Garden of England" title.
We are now the "building site " of England, over-run and in the manure.

Don't be put off, Glenw, Kent is still a beautiful county, and so is Sussex. There are lots of NT gardens for you to see (Sissinghurst, Great Dixter etc. etc.) and you'll love the oast houses.

I agree with previous comments about the London Mayor. We'll just have to wait and see what happens next.

Pro Gard I agree about Livingstone being replaced as he was getting carried away.

Easy to call people names, as so many people do, but I hope Boris is given a chance. I think underneath
the 'buffoon' image he is a good man but whether he has enough experience to be Lord Mayor is another matter.

    I don't think I will be re-locating to London :D

Sorry Glen, lost track of this one.
Yes perhaps its not as bad as it seems, there are still a few nice places in Kent, you just have to look harder nowdays.
Same with a lot of places, I suppose.
Just think that we have bourne the brunt of the development that the government has placed upon us.
No way do I want to see a building slump, as it will probably affect my job, but I cant help thinking that the runaway profiteering, from development, that has taken place in the last ten years should have been slowed a long time ago.:)

PG. If you live in Monmouthshire why worry about what happens in "The Smoke"? As an ex-Londoner I can tell you not to worry. London and Londoners will carry on their lives as normal no matter what prat is mayor.;)

Don't worry, we haven't cancelled!! can't imagine a change in mayor is going to affect our holiday and coming from an industrial northern city we'll be used to the building sites!;);) quite looking forward to it now, its a part of the world we've never visited and WOO's walks etc make it look a lovely place. If you see a tiny motorhome broken down at the side of the road, feel free to join us for a cuppa and biccies!!:D
