Nipped into Wilkos yesterday to buy some 4" plant pots - no chance ! The gardening section is completely cleared. Replaced with Halloween bumph and Christmas cards etc. So thats it for another year - roll on March 1 2012 when we can all start again :D

Shame on Wilkinsons! I just don't get it. Christmas, I mean. I keep meeting people who seem pretty much sane except for an unfortunate compulsion to buy all manner of Xmas junk as soon as they get back from their summer holidays. If you stuck a picture of Father Christmas on bottles of sink unblocker or tubes of haemorrhoid cream they'd have to buy six, just in case. Personally I think Christmas would be much nicer if it lasted for a single day and involved nothing more than one good meal and a decent bottle of wine.

The Wilko's gardening sale is something I look forward to each year and remember every time I use something with a red sticker on. Many a time I've asked Wilko's staff the coded message "when will the Halloween goods be on sale?" (when will you start reducing your gardening stuff?)

Don't forget to look in some far flung corner of the store where they very often have some racking with all sorts of reduced odds & ends as there may still be a few bits of gardening stuff going for 10p each.

Without the rush to get the Halloween and Christmas stuff out there would be no "famous" Wilko's garden sale :thumb:

Our local store still has some garden incinerators and water butts (not reduced), a few of the 'blow away' greenhouses at £9 (bargain) and some wire, and ant killer with 75% off.

Is that like a Terminator that will absolutely not stop until he has incinerated your garden, thats what he does, thats all he does.
