I had previously promised to show some photos of the garden at our last house, but sadly I can't find as many as I would have liked of the garden overall. I also can't find photos of the many grasses.

The gazebo and building were made by me.:)

There is no point having a garden if you can't have some fun.. This is a Christmas day after Father Christmas had parked his sleigh on the lawn* The reindeer had not only chewed the grass, but also left a deposit or two!! Chloe was just at the age where she thought is there isn't there a Father Christmas. This kept the dream alive for another year.

    *note the two sleigh marks.

Lovely photos Eddie. You put a bit more effort than me into making your kids believe in Father Christmas, all I ever did was a quick bite out of the carrot left for Rudolf and swig the sherry next to the fireplace :)

Gorgeous garden and pics Eddie - but don't grieve for the old garden, I'm sure you had your reasons for leaving it (as I did mine). Look forward to the new garden and post some pics so that we can see how you are getting on.

Many thanks for all the positive replies.:)

I must admit that I really enjoyed the old garden. It had lovely black topsoil to a depth of about 3' and seemed to grow pretty much anything that was planted in it. Sadly we out grew the house, and like everywhere else, the road became a race track!
I'll have to tell the full story on both properties at some stage, as it'll make for some interesting reading.:hehe:
I have brought many of the plants with us, but the soil here is very acidic, so perhaps it wasn't such a good idea and only time will tell.

I do the crunched up carrot bit as well.:)
Children seem to be forced to grow up far to fast these days, and the longer that you can enjoy this type of thing, the longer their childhood will be and hopefully they will look back on it fondness. I say keep the dream alive!

Thanks. The building that is in the garden was the first that I built and was really the turning point for me career wise, and I haven't looked back. I only wish that the work was lighter, and that there was more of it. Things aren't exactly great on the work front. I just look at the positive aspect though, and hey spring is now just around the corner.:)

Its always been used as kind of garden room, come office, come party room for my daughters parties, and finally as shed and retreat for me!:hehe:

Many thanks for your kind words.:)
