Opposite Stapley Water Gardens in Cheshire is The Palms.

We spent Sunday morning there, it is a Greenhouse filled with all kinds of exotic plants and creatures. There was so much to see, and here is a small taster.

The entrance, there are plenty of koi in the pond, and so many differently coloured bougainvilleas.

    I just love tropical hibiscus.

Aristolochia labiata. - Rooster Plant. The weirdest flower I've ever seen.

Inside the frog house, pretty, but pretty deadly.

This takes me back, I was offered the post of running this place (it was then called the Palms Oasis I think) in '89. I declined due to various reasons and fortunately the post here came up. I was impressed with it then and looks just as good now. The Hibiscus Schizopetalus is one of my favourite plants, my cuttings from Tenerife last year didn't take. :( Might pay a visit next year as we will be going to Southport. A nice reminder Rich.
