So, it was a kind of hurried affair, wonder why, no pomp and the usual dressing up in fancy clothes.
Some say it was because it was too close to the Trooping of the Colour and couldn't be arranged.

But I noticed her Maj, managed to make it to Ascot on time.
She has never let any state business get in the way of a day horse racing, and she looked pretty frail.
Phillip is on the blink as well.

Is it about time she stood down and let Charlie have a bash at the job?
    Or dont she trust him.

    Errrr Errrr Errr.
Fiddles with cuffs, puts hands in jacket pocket.

Errr, eerr, one must do as one must.

Should skip a generation and let William have a bash at it.

I think I read somewhere that because May had ripped up her Mainfesto there was nothing to read out as such so someone must have scribbled down who they thought would win at the races to give the queen something to read while looking bored to tears:snorky:

I thought Queenie looked quiet well as always yesterday,it is Prince Philip who now looks like he is on his last legs:biggrin: Someone needs to whisper in his ear that he isn't drinking enough fluids to stop the bugs upsetting his waterworks. My late father in law was just the same as is all old dears, the body loses its ability to tell the brain when it needs fluids to keep ticking over ok and to keep the nasty bacteria at bay but they just don't listen:biggrin:

I agree that Charles should step down and let Wills and Kate have a go at keeping it all together and I don't fancy having to curtesy to Queen Camilla either, although if the Daily Fail story is correct today, according to Harry/Henry none of the youngsters want the top job so it looks like we shall have to be stuck with Charles and Camilla after all for a few years yet:sad:

I don't dislike Camilla at all, and her fashion sense looks excellent to me.

                    Ditto!!
Think that has been taken slightly out of context.
For one (from what I have read) he never stated "the youngsters" and, secondly, the context was in the fact that no one "wanted" it, it is a role without choice - nonetheless, those in that position accepted their role and committed themselves *to* it ...

... (unless you were Edward VIII  :shhhh: ) :mute:

What is the point of revering a dysfunctional family? Charles is a spoilt man-child who uses media to bash all his relatives, dead or alive. He should go. Airmile Andy is at it again. He's a law unto himself. £5m for the Grenfell victims and £369m for renovating Buck House.. Time we used our sense rather than being brainwashed by media which the BuckHouse PR controls. Anne is probably with Andrew PB.. The PBs are social climbers .. I have no respect for CamPB.. who has set her heart on Charles and now collecting blings, status and money.. and gawps at the camera, believing in her own version of beauty. She has been made some of Vice Chancellor of a Scottish university, for which she receives money.. I ask you, where is the justification for this?

I won't comment on this again. But truth be told..

Even the sycophantic Daily Mail has a go at them

Globe-trotting royals are costing a king's ransom: Taxpayers face £154,000 bill for first trip on 'cost-cutting' royal jet as cost of travel soars by £4.5m in a year (and Queen gets an 8% 'pay rise')

As for who should be king, it should be William, William & Kate come across to be very decent, straight forward people, with good morals.

I think prince Phillip is lovely, he really makes me laugh because he reminds me of my grandad! I also have the upmost respect for the queen.

Now prince Harry! He's just a tinker isn't he? A cheeky young man who is full of fun & mischief,.

@Beckie76 This is 2017. Why should we pay respect to those who happen to be born into the family or gold digger who has the morality of an alley cat? We are all equal .. That's the gist.

Any way, no more. I would even vote Corbyn in if he re-houses the royal family.. There is nothing royal about them. We enable them to live in a parallel universe!

I'm no royalist, and I do think they cost us money, but it's mostly about the hanger ons that are the problem, the whole set up is far too lavish, and it needs whittling down a bit.

As to the up keep of Buck House, well, ... it's part of this countries heritage, not just that old girls house, lets face it she dont like the place much anyway, we could move those that are being thrown out of the tower blocks in there, but apparently the place is an accident waiting to happen regarding wiring and probably the drains:yikes::biggrin:

I'd not want to pay any of the family "respect" as such, but think maybe , they should "respect" us the taxpayer for keeping them off the dole and in the lifestyle to which they are accustomed.

I am more annoyed about a lot of Bills that were due to be read out by the queen, but are now cancelled completely because Theresa May called the election.! Not the Queen and family..

Theresa May obviously knew in amongst everything else that an election would cancel a lot of bills leaving her way clear to push through ones she wants, which are not necessarily a good thing, but brushed under the carpet they are and the queen read out the speech Teresa and her government wrote for her.. The queen doesn't write the speech the government do..
