    Hi all,
I'm planning to give some trees as a present to my sister. This website looks good, but as there are 1001 good looking charities websites I was wondering if anyone has experiences or opinions about the Woodland Trust- organisation? Do things work and would it be worth the money to donate around £100?

Here's the link to the website: The Woodland Trust

    Thank you for any comments!

I think they are worthy, but as you say there are many good charities.

Woodland Trust promotes the planting of native trees and shrubs, and they encourage folks to grow stuff in a way that helps wildlife. For example, they do mixed hedge packs that contain a good balance of different shrubs and they give advice on planting and pruning to make the result as natural looking and as beneficial to wildlife as possible.

I've been a member for at least fifteen years I think. I feel they use my money well.

    Thanks guys!
I think my sister will get 10 dedicated trees around the UK. She's a keen walker and often visits us here in the UK on holidays, it might be interesting to plan a holiday to visit Her Tree... :)

The actual trees are not marked of course, and the money goes to the charity. But as a thought I think it is lovely.

During our recent hols in the lake district we discussed de- and reforestation a lot. I do hope these charities will be able to make a difference and to raise awareness.

I'll be hugging trees next... [IMG]
