See 'General Gardening Discussion'. From humble beginnings, this thread has taken on a remarkable life of its own. It has revealed a desperate need for a special place in which forum members can be miserable about words, people and life in general. I suggest we have a special place for all things grumpy. We could call it 'The Yard'.

Good idea :gnthb:. I know a lot of grumpy people on here :hehe:.

Clare has already enrolled me into the Grumpy Society. Maybe we could call it The Grumpy Society and have it on the home page as a separate topic. Then we could have different threads under that heading as I can see it growing quite popular. It could be put in just below 'Wakey, Wakey'.

 Well we have been down a road like this before Shiney & Claralou & sadly it didn't work out... :wink:But in saying that we could try it again if you like as there are allot of new members now... I will put you a sticky thread in The Muppet how forum & move the yard thread into it so you can carry it on .. As long as it doesn't start to cause problems it will be fine I would think.....

Then why not a "Grumpy Gardeners'" section?

I'm more than willing to contribute, I believe I have the qualifications being once described as "Grumpy Granddad" by my grandson when he was six. To be fair, as do all three of my grandchildren, he usually addresses me by my Christian name.

I like the idea of a happy room too, I had a lovely experience last weekend, my neighbour came around and cut my front hedge for me when I was out. In the past I've helped cut her hedges at the same time as mine but with my new job and family complications I am way behind in the garden. Now she is a single mum who lost her hubby tragically 2 years ago and has three little ones under 5, so how she found the time to do it I don't know, it's brightened up my week ever since thinking about it.

Thanks Marley, I feel really happy about it and guilty at the same time.

It's easy to be grumpy and cynical so maybe a happy thread would brigthen the forum up. Lets see how many others are glass half full tpyes like Woo.

On another forum we have a 'Rant and Rave' thread and also a 'Best thing that happened to-day' thread.

My suggestions: 'Happy Clappy' for the cheerful thread and 'Grumpy Gumpers' for the sound off thread.
    :D
I can do a very good grumpy old woman...
