There's something weird happening round here right now. There's all this water leaking from somewhere. I know this sounds crazy, but it appears to be coming from the sky. I seem to remember something like this used to happen a long time ago.

Where do you Live @Clueless 1 v2 ? It can't be in Wales, Welsh skies are very leaky. Sometimes I wish I could send for a plumber to fix it

Years ago I went to work and stay in Greenock/Gourock on the west coast of Scotland. I had heard stories about how it always rained but thought they were just exaggerations. I was sadly mistaken. In the 10 years I was there there was hardly a day we didn't get some rain. Maybe a few spots, sometimes 24 hours solid, but rain it did. Made me appreciate the east coast!

Just now I heard a constant roaring sound. I thought, it's too late for anyone to be using power tools, or there's a fault in my house. So I looked outside. It's absolutely chucking it down. I'm over the moon about it. It's the first bit of decent rain we've had in ages. Even the wife, who enjoys the garden but takes little interest in its maintenance, was excited. I hope it keeps raining all night. If it stops by midday tomorrow that will suit me.

We have had no significant rain since March . Three days had between 10 minutes and an hour of rain and a few days listed as 'a trace' of rain - e.g. the patio looked wet two days ago but it had appeared for a couple of minutes and disappeared almost immediately. Figures from the village weather archivist :dunno:

Can you please send some of it down this way?

Our session of chucking it down lasted a grand total of half an hour.

Less than a month since it last rained here. It feels like much, much longer.

But it's raining now. The weather warning for our area seems a bit over the top. We were promised localised flooding. It's just raining, not hammering it down, but I'm sure the garden will be happy with whatever it can get at this stage.

We finally got rain last week that helped a bit but none forecast since then - until this evening. I'll get ready to go out and dance in it! :rolleyespink:
