Solved They grow like wildfire. ID please.

    These things just pop up and grow like wildfire. They look like small treelets and have dark green shiny leaves and long strong roots and by the time we pull them up they are 75-100cm tall.. They sharp "nubs" on the stems. . We always thought Olive but they shoot up nowhere near the olive trees.

    Any thoughts? Thank you.

    I thought olive when I first saw them as well. They develop a thorny appearance to deter grazing.....so don't graze on them!:)

      I'd say Olive too. Seedlings might not look exactly like the parent tree, and birds or animals could be moving the pits around?
