She's lucky she never got sparked out. If I'd been there I wouldn't have risked waiting to see if she was serious or not. Crazy person chasing kids with a knife = immediate and serious threat that has to be stopped.

Don't know about the chasing with the knife bit, but even as a vegetarian, the real heart bit made me giggle :snork:

Think the clue might have been the table full of entrails, it kind of says "don't knock on this door" to me

A common mistake when dealing with nutters is to apply logic to the situation. Only sane people think logically. An insane person, for example someone who thinks its normal to terrify young kids and chase them with a knife, doesn't think logically and therefore don't operate within the predictable boundaries of normality.

Elderly people hate this trick or treating as do most people who live alone yet they are still encouraged to do it!!!! They stopped 'penny for the guy' saying it was begging so what is banging on doors and holding your hand out then?

I'm not sure all elderly people or all people living alone would agree. Round here there are plenty of old folk (and young folk, a good mix really), and everyone seems to get into the spirit.

Many old folks I know personally love to see the kids having fun, and make a special effort to encourage such at every opportunity.

You've just reminded me of something wife and I were chatting about last night. I've put in on another thread to save typing it twice:)

I suppose the moral of the story is don't knock on strangers doors begging for money because if you do you might get chased up the street by a fake butcher covered in blood with a fake knife and get a fright. :loll:

I must say as a 13 year old I'd have run down the street screaming then gone back for more.....me and my friends would have loved it!!! :snork:

In the heat of the moment, in the dark, would that have been obvious? I once had a fake gun pointed at me. The lad that did it was squeeling in pain before I even heard the very plasticy sound of it hitting the floor. I wasn't going to say 'hang on a moment young man, before I cooperate with you, let me just check if that is real or not'.

She should have done like in the movie "Carrie" and thrown a bucket of blood at them!!!!
