Solved This was supposed to be hazelnut - but is it?

    hallo,
    when i bought this i was told it would produce hazelnuts but 4 years later, not a sausage! is it a hazelnut bush and if it is, what am i doing wrong? -- i have not pruned it but fed it cowmanure from a supermarket brand.
    whither 'hazelnut'? please advize. cheers, karaman

    It does look like Hazel, it's difficult to see from the photo but it looks to be too crowded.

      Ours hazels are old and we only get a few, why, because the squirrel get there first,

        Yes ..it is Hazel..Corylus avellana.
        I suspect you are being far to kind to it.
        Feeding it with cow manure will just produce more lush growth...at the expense of nuts.
        ie you are spoiling it.

        Treat it mean and it should flower and produce nuts for you.
