My two grandsons age four and six came to visit on Saturday and went into the garden to play. They asked me if they could draw on the summerhouse patio with their new jumbo chalks and I said they could (its not in sight of the house and the rain will soon wash it off).

They were very quiet and Mum congratulated herself on the excellent play value of the new chalks. When we went down the garden to find them we found they had drawn spiders on all the stepping stones down the garden but the piece de resistance was our garden statue Titan who they felt needed brightening up. What can you say....................!

With the torrential rain we've had here today the boy's artistic endeavours have been washed away.

Now it's just another lovely memory as fleeting as a summer rose.
