Thought for today.

A man is walking on a beach. There are starfish washed up all over the place. A girl is picking them up and throwing them back one by one.

"What are you doing?" asks the man.
"The tide's going out," she says. "If I don't throw them back they'll shrivel up and die."
"There's a mile of beach and thousands of starfish," says the man, "you're not going to make much of a difference, are you?"

The girl picks up another and throws it into the sea.
"Made a difference for that one." she says.
